How many driving lessons will I need?

How long will my driving lessons take?

Latest DSA statistics show that the average person took over 40 lessons and had an extra 16 hours private practice.

At Derby Driving School we aim to do considerably less lessons up to test but would assure you that we do not take short cuts and always teach “safe driving for life”

  • The average pass rate nationally is 40%
  • The national average for first time passes is approximately 2 in 5

The main cause of people failing their test is people taking the test before they are ready, usually meaning they needed more lessons.

No one can guarantee a pass! Intensive driving courses work well for some people, less well for others
